Our Statement of Faith and Ethics

What we believe

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and the final authority for faith and life. We believe in one God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, that He died for our sins, rose bodily from the grave, and is coming again. We believe salvation is by grace through faith in Christ alone, and that the Church exists to make disciples of all nations.

That is the ground we stand on. It is why DiscipleRealm exists.

What we do not impose

Beyond those essentials, Christians differ in good conscience on many things: baptism, spiritual gifts, church government, the end times, and more. DiscipleRealm does not take sides in your church's teaching. Your church sets its own statement of faith, its own translation, and its own doctrinal notes, and everything the platform produces for your people is shaped by yours. We serve the whole church, not one tradition.

How we use artificial intelligence

1. 1Barnabas is an AI and says so. It will never pretend to be a person.
2. 2Barnabas does not write Scripture. Every verse comes from a licensed translation, quoted by reference, with the publisher's copyright shown.
3. 3Barnabas distinguishes what the Bible says from what people teach about it, and it defers to your pastor on contested questions rather than answering them.
4. 4Nothing generated by AI reaches your congregation until a leader you trust has reviewed and approved it. This applies to lessons, recaps, and summaries alike.
5. 5AI is never a substitute for a pastor. If a member expresses crisis, Barnabas responds with care, points to real help, and alerts a leader. It does not counsel.
6. 6We use AI to serve the teaching ministry of the church, never to replace it.

How we treat your people's data

• A member's journal, prayers, and reflections belong to that member. Leaders see only what a member chooses to share.
• Pastors see patterns and participation, not private answers, unless a member shares them.
• We do not sell data. We do not run ads. We do not train AI models on your congregation's words.
• Billing is per church. We never charge your members, and we never trade on their attention.
• Every church's data is isolated from every other church's.

How we build

We build in the open with our own congregation first. Every feature in DiscipleRealm was used at The Iconic Church before it was offered to yours. When we get something wrong, we fix it and say so. When a decision touches doctrine, we leave it to the church. When a decision touches money, we choose the option that lets a pastor invite everyone.

What we will not do

We will not manipulate members to keep them in the app. We will not use guilt, shame, or streak pressure as growth tactics. We will not let a machine publish teaching in a pastor's name. We will not sell curriculum that was not properly licensed. We will not quietly change these commitments.
